The Educational Center (studio) at Pallada LLC
The ceramics educational studio at Pallada LLC has opened its doors to everybody who wishes to learn ceramics in October 2009. The studio has the feel of warmth and creative spirit favorable for study and work. People share their feelings, happy news, and problems, talk and joke, think and mix with each other.
The principle of study at our studio is not strictly didactic, as everything is learnt and comprehended in the process of master-pupil communication. As of the educational principles, the studio may be compared to the ancient artisans’ bands, where pupils learnt secrets of craft by watching and training. It’s great when people studying near you enjoy your items when they are good and try to help when something is going wrong.
There are three educational lines at our studio:
- Jigging
- Clay modeling
- Decoration and painting of ceramics
Depending on the skills you can choose a beginners’ course or an advanced one for those who have experience in ceramics. During the education you will learn types of clay, and ways how to store and handle it. You will also learn how to work with a jigger (potter’s wheel), to model and decorate your creations.
Educational and leisure center is organized at the ceramics production area of Pallada LLC. The studio is furnished with high-class professional equipment necessary for dealing with ceramics — making, drying, calcinating and decorating. Here you can have a great time and create handmade presents for you family and friends. Professional instruments and equipment allow us to make thing as creative as we want them to be. The teachers of the center are famous artists-ceramists. There is no age limit at our studio: children and adults are welcome to form study groups, including mixed ones. Yes! Whole families are not uncommon here!
Pallada LLC is cooperating with the Arts department of Saint-Petersburg State University (SPbGU): students studying within the Arts and Crafts academic program do practical training at our studio, and seniors make their graduate projects there. Our company administers and kind of takes care of the students; - we watch over everything that happens with them. We hope, that there will be time when today’s freshmen will come to Pallada Company to create their graduate projects.
We can already boast some results, though we haven’t been working for a year yet. The warm and friendly atmosphere of the studio at Pallada LLC encourages the students to create small and big masterpieces. And that makes everybody happy. What we do adds some positive to the people’s life. That means that it’s all not for nothing and we chose the right way! You are very welcome at Pallada studio where you can learn the secrets of beauty named CERAMICS!
